The product extends native Confluence tables with powerful capabilities for working with structured data and is continuously evolving to support new use cases and integrations. Today, Advanced Tables runs on Atlassian Forge, and we are expanding its capabilities to connect with additional cloud services and data sources, such as Jira, with more integrations planned for the future. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us take on these increasingly complex challenges. You will contribute to the architecture and continuous modernization of the product, design and deliver new capabilities, and help ensure its quality and maintainability as it evolves. The role goes beyond feature development. You will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to troubleshooting complex issues and supporting escalated customer cases, working closely with the rest of the team to continuously improve both the product and the way we build it. What you’ll do: Be part of a cross-functional product team , working closely with Software Engineers, Product Management, UX, and other specialists across Appfire . Design, build, and evolve Advanced Tables capabilities using TypeScript , React , and Atlassian Forge . Build new integrations with Jira and other cloud data sources , working with REST APIs and different data formats. Contribute to technical and architectural decisions , helping continuously modernize and improve the product. Take ownership throughout the product lifecycle , from design and implementation to testing, troubleshooting, and resolving escalated customer issues. Promote strong engineering practices around code quality, security, performance, reliability, and maintainability . What you'll need: Proven record (5+ years) delivering multiple complex software development projects or products. Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and modern React . Strong understanding of web application architecture , including performance, security, reliability, quality, and maintainability. Good understanding of modern cloud architectures , with practical experience building and operating applications in AWS, GCP, or similar cloud environments. Experience designing and integrating REST APIs and external services , including authentication, error handling, and rate limiting. Strong engineering practices around automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD . Ability to analyze and decompose complex problems into clear, maintainable, and realistic solutions. Willingness to work across frontend and backend technologies and learn new technologies when needed. Experience with Atlassian Forge, Confluence, Jira, or the Atlassian ecosystem would be an advantage. Command of English at level B2 or higher is required. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
