Apptegy, Inc. seeks Sr. Software Engineer in Little Rock, AR. Duties: Cloud Infrastructure Leadership: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of AWS cloud environments that are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient. Back-End Development: Write high-quality, maintainable code in Ruby and Rails, primarily focused on new features, products, and platform enhancements. Architecture & Design: Collaborate with engineers to define system architecture, apply appropriate design patterns, and make sound technical decisions. CI/CD & Infrastructure Automation: Oversee and improve CI/CD pipelines to increase deployment speed and reliability. Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK. Operational Excellence: Establish and uphold best practices for clean code, observability, reliability, and operational standards. Monitoring & Alerting: Optimize system monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana. Security & IAM: Ensure best practices for networking, security, and IAM management across AWS and integrated SaaS tools. Production Support & RCA: Facilitate resolution of production issues, maintain high system availability and performance, and provide thorough root cause analyses when needed. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, QA/Test, DevOps, and front-end engineers (Vue.js) within a SCRUM team. Partner with Engineering leadership, including the CTO and VPs. Documentation: Produce clear, accurate technical documentation in collaboration with Product and Tech Ops teams. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with AWS services and industry trends, driving ongoing improvements across systems and processes. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers, supporting team growth and best practices. Requires a Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or in related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Full Stack Software Engineer-related occupation. Position requires 2 years of experience in each of the following skills: 1) Cloud Architectures; 2) QA Automation; 3) Two or more of the following: Cordova, Node.js, AWS, Google Cloud, and Express; 4) Cloud Infrastructure Leadership; 5) Ci/CD Pipeline Development; 6) Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK; 7) Optimizing system monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana; and 8) Ensuring best practices in networking, security, and IAM management within AWS and other SaaS tools. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
