ISA is a leading provider of real-time signal and image processing systems for government customers. We specialize in high-performance distributed signal processing solutions, working across the full lifecycle—from concept design through development, integration, deployment, and operations & maintenance of mission-critical systems. Position Overview: As a Senior Systems Engineer and Capability Owner for RF Collection Processing, you will play a pivotal leadership role in the design, development, and delivery of advanced RF signal collection and processing capabilities. You will provide technical direction alongside the Program Software Architect and Chief Engineer, while acting as a key company representative to external customers, partners, and stakeholders. This senior-level position involves both deep technical contributions and program-level oversight, including progress monitoring, resource forecasting, proposal support, and ensuring alignment between technical execution and mission objectives. Key Responsibilities: • Capability Ownership: Serve as primary technical authority for RF collection processing systems; define and evolve roadmaps, architectures, and technical baselines. • Full Lifecycle Systems Engineering: Lead systems engineering for high-performance distributed signal processing systems, covering requirements, design (on-prem/cloud/hybrid), technical documentation (CONOPs, ICDs, test plans, architecture diagrams, sustainment guides), reviews, trade studies, implementation, IV&T, installation, and O&M. • Technical Leadership: Partner with the Program Software Architect and Chief Engineer to provide direction and resolve issues in real-time signal processing and high-performance computing. • Program Oversight & Reporting: Track development progress, completion vs. spend rates, and manpower; deliver status to program leadership. • Customer Representation & Liaison: Act as company representative to external organizations and customers; bridge communication between customers, engineering teams, and leadership. • Proposal Support: Contribute to proposal writing, technical volumes, cost estimation, and bidding. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field. Master’s degree preferred. • 7+ years of relevant systems engineering experience (senior-level candidates strongly preferred). • Demonstrated experience in signal processing, RF systems, and high-performance distributed computing environments. • Strong understanding of the full systems engineering lifecycle (requirements through O&M). • U.S. Citizenship and TS/SCI clearance with SSBI (including polygraph). Desired Skills & Experience: • Hands-on experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS (EC2, S3, ECS/EKS, VPC, or similar services). • Requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama). • Container orchestration and virtualization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Argo CD, etc.). • Proficiency with Linux environments and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.) for integration testing and automation. • Project management tools (MS Project, Jira, etc.) and collaboration tools (MS Office, Confluence, etc.). • Experience supporting proposal development, technical writing, and customer-facing presentations. • Familiarity with agile development practices in classified environments. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with senior government customers and internal leadership. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
