Responsibilities: Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs; Develop applications on embedded platforms, integrating closely with hardware and network systems; Architect and document backend software systems with a focus on performance, maintainability, and scalability; Perform network programming and system-level integration across multiple subsystems; Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineering, UX Design, and QA to ensure cohesive product development; Ensure high-quality deliverables and meet project timelines consistently; Participate in code reviews and actively share knowledge to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Requirements: 5+ years of experience with Golang in a production environment; 5+ years of experience working with relational databases (RDBMS) such as PostgreSQL or MySQL; Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and adaptable mindset; Proficiency in AI development environments (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) and expertise in AI development techniques, such as Spec-Driven Development, are required; Fluent in English and Latvian. Nice to have: Experience developing or maintaining IoT platforms or connected device ecosystems; Knowledge of IoT protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, or WebSockets for efficient communication; Familiarity with Matter and Thread protocols, including their architecture, security, and implementation considerations; Understanding of device provisioning, firmware over-the-air (OTA) updates, and device lifecycle management; Exposure to edge computing paradigms and cloud-to-device integration patterns; Proficiency in asynchronous programming and event-driven systems; Experience with telemetry data collection, real-time data processing, and time-series data stores; Working knowledge of IoT security best practices, including authentication, encryption, and secure communication; Familiar with Debian/Ubuntu, Linux application/service development, and CLI environment; Familiar with Linux networking stack, routing, packet analysis (tcpdump/Wireshark), and firewall management.
