Define and evolve the mobile architecture strategy leveraging Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) to enable shared code and faster delivery across multiple apps; Drive modularization, shared libraries, and code reuse to ensure long-term scalability and consistency across the ecosystem; Evaluate and implement emerging technologies such as Jetpack Compose, Compose Multiplatform, and new KMP tooling; Establish architectural patterns and standards that balance innovation, maintainability, and performance; Design and implementation of complex Android features and frameworks; Perform CI/CD, testing, performance, and observability frameworks to uphold reliability and developer efficiency; Collaborate with backend and DevOps teams to optimize APIs, data flows, and deployment strategies; Identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks, ensuring seamless scaling across apps and teams; Partner with Product, UX, and Compliance to translate business goals into technical solutions that drive product excellence; Serve as a key engineering voice in strategic decisions, influencing product roadmaps with technical insight; Ensure alignment across teams and platforms, maintaining architectural integrity while enabling autonomy; Mentor engineers across levels—coaching on architecture, performance, and clean code principles; Promote knowledge-sharing and engineering excellence through reviews, documentation, and collaboration; Model a culture of trust, inclusion, and accountability, reinforcing our values through leadership and communication; Champion experimentation and continuous improvement in Android and Kotlin Multiplatform development; Represent Fanatics Betting & Gaming in external technical communities, conferences, and forums; Contribute to technical hiring, talent development, and long-term platform strategy. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 7 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Staff Engineer, or any occupation, job title, or position developing engineering strategies for mobile software development (including Android or Kotlin Multiplatform). Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience designing, developing, and maintaining Android applications using Kotlin, applying best practices for efficiency, readability, and scalability; 5 years of professional experience building and optimizing modern user interfaces including state management and animations in production environments; 5 years of professional experience implementing scalable and maintainable application architectures including Clean Architecture and modular app structures supporting multiple product lines; 5 years of professional experience developing comprehensive testing frameworks for unit, integration, and UI testing, and embedding automation into the development lifecycle to ensure code reliability; 5 years of professional experience profiling, debugging, and optimizing application performance, and addressing issues related to memory usage, rendering, and network efficiency at scale; 5 years of professional experience applying secure coding standards, protecting sensitive user data, and ensuring compliance with data-security and privacy regulations within mobile applications; 3 years of professional experience designing and managing automated build and testing pipelines using tools including Gradle, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
