Responsibilities (What he/she will do after join UI): As a Manufacturing Design Engineer, you will own cosmetic and mechanical manufacturing process development throughout the product lifecycle, working closely with Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, and global manufacturing partners. Responsibilities include: Lead cosmetic and mechanical manufacturing process development from PoC, EVT, DVT, PVT. Develop, review and validate manufacturing processes including SOP, SIP, process parameters, inspection methods and reliability validation . Drive suppliers to resolve manufacturing, cosmetic and reliability issues through Root Cause Analysis (RCA), DOE and process optimization . Evaluate and qualify new materials, resins, coatings and cosmetic finishes to improve product quality and user experience. Develop and optimize manufacturing processes including: Plastic injection molding CNC machining Painting Anodizing Powder coating Polishing Laser treatment Analyze cosmetic defects and drive continuous yield improvement with suppliers. Plan and execute reliability validation, analyze failures, and implement corrective actions. Participate in DFM/DFA reviews to improve manufacturability, production efficiency and cosmetic quality. Collaborate with Product Design (PD), Mechanical Design (MPD), Mechanical Sourcer (MESR), Manufacturing Tooling Engineer (MTE) and Manufacturing Quality Engineering (MQE) throughout product development. Support supplier qualification, process audits and manufacturing ramp-up across Taiwan, China and Vietnam. Minimum Qualifications (MUST-haves) : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related disciplines. 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in consumer electronics, networking products, servers or related industries. 5+ years of experience in cosmetic manufacturing processes including plastic and metal post-processing. Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Painting Anodizing Powder coating CNC machining Injection molding Surface treatment Familiar with manufacturing documentation including SOP, SIP, inspection standards and reliability validation. Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and driving process improvements. Willingness to travel to supplier sites across Taiwan, China and Vietnam. Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-haves / Plus) : Experience driving New Product Introduction (NPI) from EVT through Mass Production. Experience with tooling development, fixture design or injection molding. Experience performing DFM/DFA reviews and improving manufacturability. Familiar with DOE, PFMEA, SPC or statistical process analysis. Experience working with networking, surveillance or consumer electronics products. Strong project management and supplier management skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and manufacturing partners.
