About Ubiquiti At Ubiquiti Inc., we create technology platforms for Businesses, Smart Homes, and Internet Service Providers, driven by our goal to connect everyone, everywhere. To date, Ubiquiti has shipped over 100 million devices worldwide, from ISP networking products to next generation of IT solutions. Our growth is made possible by the dedicated team of hundreds behind the scenes. From software developers and product managers to designers and strategists, Team UI is driven to achieve our common goal: Rethinking IT. At Ubiquiti, you’ll heighten your potential and broaden your horizons - all while shaping the future of connectivity. Role Summary We are looking for a highly driven Hardware Engineer who is passionate about innovation and eager to build extraordinary products. In this role, you will help design next-generation Ethernet hardware including Cloud Gateways, Gateway Routers, and Switches with real global impact. You will collaborate directly with R&D labs across multiple countries, bringing your expertise, energy, and creativity into every stage of development. We value engineers who think beyond conventional solutions, embrace new challenges, and consistently engineer reliable, high-performance products. Responsibilities Collaborate with a global cross-functional team—including industrial design, RF, layout, mechanical, SI, BSP, thermal, DQA, and product management—to drive new product development from concept through mass production. Lead or contribute to system architecture, owning schematic capture, component selection, and PCB layout review to ensure high-speed signal integrity and robust power design. Rapidly prototype concept hardware for mock-ups and feasibility studies; take a hands-on role in board bring-up, debugging, testing, and validation. Build and execute comprehensive hardware test and validation plans. Diagnose and resolve complex hardware challenges—from early-stage design issues to in-field anomalies—to ensure rock-solid performance and product reliability. Own and maintain the Hardware Requirements Document, ensuring a complete and accurate definition of system-level and component-level specifications. Conduct competitive teardowns and feature benchmarking to inform product and architecture decisions. Continuously optimize designs for failure analysis, long-term reliability, and seamless manufacturability, owning the hardware lifecycle end-to-end. Consistently deliver world-class product quality on aggressive schedules with exceptional attention to detail and execution discipline. Requirement MS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. 6+ years of hands-on hardware development experience with a proven record of delivering production-grade designs. Strong foundation in core electrical engineering principles with demonstrated expertise in digital and analog circuit design. Deep experience in high-speed interface architecture and signal validation, including DDR4/DDR5, 100G/50G/25G/10G Ethernet SerDes, PCIe Gen3/4/5, SATA3, and USB3.2. Practical experience with 802.3af/at/bt PoE PSE/PD, Multi-Gig/100G Ethernet PHYs, Ethernet switching, and gateway/router system design. Solid understanding of thermal management and EMI/EMC compliance design practices. Proficient with EDA tools for schematic and PCB development (e.g., OrCAD Capture, Cadence Allegro, Mentor PADS). Highly skilled with lab instrumentation—oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network sniffers—and comfortable driving hands-on debug. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, cross-functional, and highly adaptive startup environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing hardware for enterprise Ethernet switches, AP routers, or storage-class systems. Highly organized in managing complex hardware platforms, with a proactive approach to exploring new architectures and driving innovative product concepts. Strong self-motivation and ownership mindset, with a demonstrated ability to lead complex technical issues to full resolution.

Here's how to pick the right one and stand out in your application.

144.883Jobs

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
