Play a part in Singapore’s vision to build a Smart Nation and embark on your meaningful journey to build tech for public good. Join us to advance our mission and shape your future with us today! Learn more about GovTech at tech.gov.sg. [What you will be working on] Govtech Developer Productivity & Services Programme is at the heart of how the Singapore Government builds software. We run the tools and platforms that thousands of government developers rely on every day, from tool discovery via Government Developer Portals and CLIs, to AI-assisted and AI-native development and validations with AI Coding Assistants, agent skills, CI/CD orchestrations, to data-driven insights and analysis on developer productivity, friction-less previews and deployments with Containers and Kubernetes-based platforms. We also build the Govtech Central Product Marketplace, enabling agencies to Discover, Evaluate, Subscribe, Bill and Operate all Govtech Products from a single platform. We are seeking a Senior / Software Engineer who gets excited about building and operating the next-gen, highly scalable and resilient Developer Productivity & Services Platform – both the toolings we provide, and the marketplace that agencies can discover, subscribe, and operate from. In this role, you won’t just write code; This role combines platform product thinking, frontend development, backend engineering, developer experience, and production engineering. Above all, you will use AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows, such as Claude Code, spec-driven development, reusable skills, and automated review/test loops, to accelerate delivery while preserving engineering quality. As a Developer Productivity & Services Platform Engineer, you will have the opportunity to: Build Platform Software and Abstractions Design developer-facing abstractions over various components such as cloud-native services (e.g. AWS, kubernetes), CI/CD toolings, observability, and security controls, to marketplace platform services such as billing, subscriptions, reducing the need for teams to understand underlying details before they can ship safely. Develop platform services, APIs, CLIs, infrastructure automation, and internal tooling that make complex infrastructure easier and safer to consume. Define stable interfaces, versioning approaches, error handling, testing strategies, and documentation for platform components. Build the User Experience via a single interface – web-based, CLIs, MCPs, etc Create the unified platform where users discover, evaluate, access, and manage available services, tools, and applications from a single interface – web-based, CLIs, or even MCPs Design seamless end-to-end workflows for user access management, self-service configuration, operational transparency, and ongoing oversight. Build robust search, filtering, and personalization features that help users navigate the ecosystem and surface the right capabilities quickly. Enable teams to launch and integrate their services faster by providing standardized, ready-made capabilities - such as access provisioning, activity tracking, and UI embedding - so teams can focus on core utility instead of rebuilding foundational platform services. Improve Service Reliability and Observability Design for high availability and resilience – our platforms serve thousands of government developers and agencies daily. Build observability into services: monitors, alerts, SLOs, and usage analytics that surface issues before users do. Achieve operational excellence, through automated testing, deployment strategies, operational toolings, and various software automations, allow teams to ship confidently at pace. Improve the Developer and Agency Experience Build self-service platform workflows for the developers and agencies. Produce clear documentation, onboarding flows, and examples that reduce the learning curve. Collaborate with UX and product to iterate on interfaces grounded in real usage. Use delivery signals and user feedback, , to understand friction and prioritize targeted improvements. Collaborate With Platform Stakeholders Work with stakeholders to understand their integration, deployment, and operations needs. Partner across platform engineering, product, and design to shape APIs and experiences. Gather feedback from real usage and improve platform capabilities iteratively. [What we are looking for] We value strong engineering fundamentals. We’re looking for people who: Demonstrate the ability to build high-quality, secure software Think clearly about abstract problems, with strong debugging and reasoning skills Communicate and collaborate effectively with engineers, policy officers, UX teams, cybersecurity specialists, and partner agencies Take initiative to drive improvements in reliability and security Growth mindset and willingness to share knowledge to grow together with the team. Able to grasp business domain concepts and set appropriate technical directions at the right level of abstraction Care deeply about public good, and understand the responsibility of working on critical national infrastructure We value ability, initiative, communication, and strong integrity. What we offer you: GovTech is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that values diverse voices and perspectives, as we believe that diversity is the foundation to innovation. Our employee benefits are based on a total rewards approach, offering a holistic and market-competitive suite of perks. These include leave benefits to meet your work-life needs and employee wellness programs. We champion flexible work arrangements (subject to your job role) and trust that you will manage your own time to deliver your best, wherever you are, and whatever works best for you. 24,795 developer jobs are open right now

Here's where they are and how to stand out in your next interview.

That number includes positions in India (9,577), Poland (3,429), the United States (1,753), Singapore (787), and Brazil (779). If you're looking to move or work remotely, check which countries match your goals — then filter WorkMundi by location to see what's actually hiring near you.

Most developer ads you'll see are written in English: 18,397 of the 24,795. That doesn't tell you whether the job itself requires you to speak English or work in English daily, so read each posting carefully. Don't assume the language of the ad matches the language of the team.

The employers posting the most developer roles are Link Group (369 jobs), Upvanta (257), jobgether (226), and OfferZen (212). If you're applying to any of these, research their hiring patterns. They move fast and post often, which means they're either scaling hard or replacing people who didn't fit.

In your interview, expect this: 'Walk me through the last time you had to debug something that took you more than an hour. What was it, what did you try first, and what would you do differently?' Hiring managers ask this to see if you think systematically or just try random fixes. Have a real example ready with specifics.
