Role Purpose: To maximize the reliability and availability of critical assets in the Process Plant and peripheral plants by detecting failure modes early on the P-F curve, executing and monitoring the Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) program under the ISO *** asset management framework. This is achieved through the application of predictive maintenance techniques (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, and process data analysis), the assessment of asset health based on criticality (ABC indicator), the timely generation of maintenance notifications in SAP PM with data structured according to ISO *, and the delivery of technical scopes to the Planning area. All of this is done with the purpose of anticipating functional failures, optimizing equipment lifecycles, ensuring operational safety, and contributing to maintenance cost efficiency, in line with Management's strategic safety, environmental, and production objectives. Functions: • Execute and supervise the condition monitoring program (vibration analysis under ISO *, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound) on the plant's rotating and static equipment, adhering to scheduled routes and ISO * standards, to detect potential failures at an early stage (P-F curve). • Analyze trends in process data and operating variables (telemetry, SCADA, online sensors) in conjunction with condition data to assess the actual health of assets and optimize their performance. • Identify and define maintenance tasks based on the actual condition of the asset, generating maintenance notifications in SAP PM with high-quality data (symptom, probable cause, part/object according to ISO * taxonomy) to provide reliable information for the planning process. • Technically validate maintenance notifications generated by condition monitoring or technical inspections, classifying them according to criticality and operational impact (ABC indicator: Critical, Important, Non-Critical) to prioritize resource allocation based on risk. • Collaborate with the Planning area in defining the technical scope of identified repairs (components, spare parts, specialties, and intervention windows) to ensure work is feasible within the weekly schedule and the 52-week master plan. • Participate in root cause analyses (RCA/ACR) of high-impact failures and in criticality and plan optimization studies (FMEA/RCM), contributing condition evidence and historical data to eliminate defects and improve maintenance strategies. • Issue technical reports and dashboards tracking the CBM program (route completion, assets on alert, notifications generated, detection accuracy, MTBF of monitored equipment) to inform the Technical Office and support data-driven decisions. • Propose technological improvements to the monitoring program (permanent sensors, online remote monitoring, advanced analytics) to expand coverage of critical assets and reduce personnel exposure. • Maintain the integrity and traceability of condition databases (analysis software and telemetry platforms) to ensure the historical continuity of asset diagnostics. • Comply with the rules and provisions of the Internal Work Regulations, safety policies and procedures, environmental policies and procedures (ISO *), teamwork practices, and other duties inherent to the position as assigned by the immediate supervisor. Required Profile: Academic: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or related fields. Desirable: Certification in predictive techniques (ISO * Cat. I/II vibration analysis, Level I thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis), training in Asset Management under ISO *, knowledge of SMRP pillars and PMBOK methodology, and CMRP certification. Experience: 5 to 7 years of general experience in industrial or mining maintenance. Proven specific experience in the implementation and execution of condition-based maintenance (CBM) programs and the use of reliability tools, preferably in mineral processing or concentrator plants (crushing, SAG/ball milling, flotation, filtration, thickening). Additional Knowledge: • Predictive maintenance techniques: vibration analysis (ISO *), thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasound. • Advanced proficiency in SAP PM/MM (alerts, work orders, failure history) and data management tools. • Proficiency in condition analysis software and telemetry platforms. • Industrial communication protocols (SCADA, PLC, RTU) and process variable reading. • Reliability methodologies: FMEA/RCM, RCA/ACR, asset criticality analysis. • ISO *** asset management framework and failure data taxonomy.

Here's how to pick the right one and stand out in your application.

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
