Job Description We are seeking an Engineer with strong technical expertise in wet utilities design, covering water supply, wastewater, storm drainage, and urban drainage systems. The role involves supporting design deliverables from concept through detailed design, working closely with senior engineers and CAD modellers, and ensuring compliance with Swedish/Nordic codes and standards. Responsibilities Wet utilities design: Assist in design of water, wastewater, storm drainage, and urban drainage systems. Civil3D modelling support: Prepare and update 3D models for wet and dry utilities under guidance of senior engineers. Design basis preparation: Contribute to establishing design criteria and methodologies. Hydraulic calculations: Support preparation of hydraulic layouts and calculations. Documentation: Produce drawings, specifications, and reports for tender and construction stages. Coordination: Work collaboratively with CAD staff, engineers, and cross-discipline teams. Compliance: Apply Swedish/Nordic codes and standards in design deliverables. Required Skills & Experience 4-8 years of professional experience in wet utilities design. Proficiency in Civil3D for utility modelling. Exposure to concept to detailed design delivery. Knowledge of Swedish/Nordic codes and standards (ISO, SSG, SIS). Experience in stormwater management and urban drainage design. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow design instructions. Good communication skills for coordination with teams and clients. Qualifications Preferred Attributes Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's in Water Resources/Environmental Engineering desirable). Experience in multidisciplinary project environments. Ability to adapt to new tools and workflows. Team-oriented mindset with willingness to learn from senior colleagues. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
