Your Responsibilities Key Activities & Responsibilities: Financial Accounting • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close. • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts. • Ensure compliance with German GAAP and IFRS (where applicable). • Assist with statutory financial statements and external audits. • Support accounting process improvements and internal controls. • Collaborate closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and General Ledger teams and Business partners of each University. Controlling & Financial Analysis • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process. • Prepare monthly management reports and financial analyses. • Perform actual vs. budget and forecast variance analyses. • Monitor departmental costs and financial performance. • Develop financial models and ad hoc analyses to support management decisions. • Assist in KPI reporting and performance monitoring. • Support business cases and investment analyses Business Partnering • Work with department managers to understand financial performance. • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making. • Assist with cost optimization initiatives and financial planning activities. Continuous Improvement • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting. • Support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements. • Contribute to the development of standardized reporting and documentation Your profile Education • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Experience • 1–3 years of experience in external audit with a recognized audit firm (preferred). • Experience in financial accounting and financial reporting. • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or controlling is an advantage. • Experience in an international environment is desirable. Technical Skills • Strong understanding of accounting principles. • Knowledge of German GAAP (HGB). Knowledge of IFRS is an advantage. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Unit 4, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) is an advantage. • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is a plus. Languages • Good working proficiency, both written and spoken, to collaborate in an international environment. • Good working proficiency is preferred Personal Skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • High attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. • Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn. • Strong business acumen and customer-oriented mindset Why us?
