Amazon Robotics operates one of the world's largest fleets of industrial robotic systems. The ARGES (Assisted Repair and Guided Equipment Solutions) team within Robotics Operations Management (ROM) is building the next generation of intelligent maintenance tooling to reduce the expertise required for equipment recovery and diagnostics. As an SDE II on ARGES, you will design and build full-stack applications that guide field technicians through complex hardware maintenance workflows. You'll work across our portfolio, including browser-based monitoring tools, tablet diagnostic applications, and backend services that integrate directly with industrial control systems (PLCs, safety controllers, robotic workcells). Your work will directly reduce mean-time-to-repair and enable technicians to safely resolve equipment issues that previously required specialized engineering support. This is an opportunity to shape the architecture of a platform that will converge multiple maintenance tools into a single intelligent system by 2027. You'll operate with autonomy, make key technical decisions, and see your code running in warehouses across the globe. Key job responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications spanning React/TypeScript frontends, AWS serverless backends (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway), and infrastructure-as-code (CDK) • Build browser-based and tablet-based tools that guide field technicians through equipment diagnostics, configuration, and repair workflows • Develop integrations with industrial control systems (PLCs, safety controllers) and device communication layers to surface real-time equipment state • Own features end-to-end: requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support • Collaborate with field operations teams to understand technician workflows and translate them into intuitive, safety-conscious user experiences • Design for constrained environments — warehouse networks, on-premise compute (AWS Outposts), and intermittent connectivity • Leverage field maintenance data and technician feedback to provide closed-loop insights to hardware engineering teams, driving design improvements that increase equipment maintainability and reduce total cost of ownership • Contribute to architecture decisions that shape the convergence of multiple maintenance tools into a unified platform • Participate in on-call rotation and maintain operational excellence for production systems serving global fulfillment sites • Mentor junior engineers and raise the bar through code reviews, design reviews, and technical documentation A day in the life Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. Benefits can vary by location, the number of regularly scheduled hours you work, length of employment, and job status such as seasonal or temporary employment. The benefits that generally apply to regular, full-time employees include: 1. Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage 2. Maternity and Parental Leave Options 3. Paid Time Off (PTO) 4. 401(k) Plan If you are not sure that every qualification on the list above describes you exactly, we'd still love to hear from you! At Amazon, we value people with unique backgrounds, experiences, and skillsets. If you’re passionate about this role and want to make an impact on a global scale, please apply! About the team ARGES (Assisted Repair and Guided Equipment Solutions) is part of Amazon Robotics, responsible for building the maintenance tooling that keeps our robotic fulfillment network running. Here's how to pick the right one and stand out in your application.

144.883Jobs

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
