Co-Head of Legal & Compliance

Are you a seasoned legal mind ready to co-lead the compliance and legal strategy for a premier Pan-African investment firm? Our client, a leading investment manager and investment bank specializing in private credit and private equity, is seeking a Co-Head of Legal & Compliance. Working directly with the CEO and alongside the existing Co-Head, you will play a pivotal role in driving regulatory compliance, managing transactional legal risks, and safeguarding the firm's operations across multiple African jurisdictions. As the Co-Head of Legal & Compliance, you will be a strategic advisor to executive leadership. You will oversee fund and transaction legal support, manage multi-jurisdictional regulatory frameworks (including FSCA and FICA), handle corporate secretarial functions, and direct external counsel across various regions. Requirements Qualified attorney with an LLB degree and valid admission Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) with strong academic standing Proven background in financial services, private equity, funds, or investment banking (in-house experience preferred) Strong experience with regulatory compliance and AML obligations (FSCA/FICA) across multiple jurisdictions Hands-on experience with transactional legal work, fund support (NDAs, term sheets, investment agreements, CPs), and corporate governance Demonstrated ability to operate with executive-level standing, sound judgment, and minimal supervision Should you meet the minimum requirements for this position, you can forward your comprehensive CV to [Email Address Removed] .
