About the Company Inspired by successful organisations that have made essential products and services more accessible, the company is a new optical chain with a clear ambition: to make good-quality prescription glasses affordable and accessible to lower-income communities. The company aims to serve the millions of people living with uncorrected vision by offering a headline package of single-vision prescription glasses priced below R500. While the company is a for-profit business, a strong social-impact mission sits at its core-tackling the significant unmet need for affordable vision correction at scale. The company has opened its first store in Diepsloot, and the first two months' results have been very encouraging. It is currently preparing to open its second concept store in Alexandra and is looking for excellent Sales and Administration Associates who will help shape the concept and provide outstanding service to customers. Role Purpose The Sales and Administration Associate is a core frontline role within the optical store. The position combines customer service, sales support and administrative operations to ensure a smooth and high-quality customer experience within a high-volume and busy practice. This role is strictly non-clinical. The Associate will not perform any medical or optometric activities. All clinical work is conducted exclusively by registered optometrists. The role is central to delivering the company's mission: making affordable, high-quality glasses accessible at scale within township communities. Key Responsibilities Customer Experience and Sales Support Welcome and guide customers through the store journey, from entry to purchase and collection. Support customers in selecting frames and explaining product options. Provide honest and helpful guidance to ensure customers choose glasses that best meet their needs and budget. Deliver excellent, respectful and professional customer service at all times. Build trust with customers in communities where service quality may be inconsistent. Administration and Operations Register patients and manage appointments on the relevant system. Process payments, including cash, card, lay-by and insurance payments. Handle insurance administration and claims submissions. Maintain accurate customer records and follow-up communication. Support daily financial reconciliation and reporting. Laboratory Order Management Capture and manage orders for lenses and frames. Follow up with suppliers and laboratories regarding delivery timelines. Manage the collection process and customer notifications. Support stock tracking of display frames and delivered products. Customer Relationship Management Follow up with customers regarding collections, outstanding payments and satisfaction checks. Respond to social media and WhatsApp messages and queries. Support community trust-building through consistent engagement across social media and other platforms. Community Outreach and Screenings Participate in mobile vision screenings two to three days per week at schools, churches, workplaces and taxi ranks. Support the logistics and setup of screening activities. Act as a representative of the company within the community. General Store Operations Maintain the cleanliness, organisation and professional presentation of the store. Support queue management and patient flow. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Contribute to a high-efficiency, team-based working environment. Candidate Profile Non-Negotiable Values Integrity. Excellent customer service. Strong work ethic. Required Capabilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to guide customers in a helpful and trustworthy manner. Strong attention to detail when handling administration, payments and orders. Comfortable using technology and relevant systems. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience Retail, sales or customer-service experience. Experience using point-of-sale systems or working in an administrative role. Exposure to township markets or community-based work. Experience within an optical environment will be beneficial but is not required, as training will be provided. Working Environment and Expectations A fast-paced retail environment with a high volume of patients and customers. A combination of in-store and field or community-based work. A team-based environment supporting optometrist-led services. ***Salary - R10,000 - R18,000 per month (Negotiable, based on skills, experience and in relation to current package) Desired Skills: Sales & Administration

WorkMundi's database shows 74,689 open sales positions globally. India leads with 17,483 jobs, followed by the US with 13,876. If you're open to geography, you have real options — but the sheer number means you need a filter. Don't apply to everything. Pick a country, a company size, and a sales model that matches what you actually want to do.

Almost 8 in 10 of these ads have their text written in English. That's useful for reading the job description and understanding what you're signing up for. But it tells you nothing about whether the role requires you to speak English with customers, partners, or your team. Ask the hiring manager directly during your first conversation.

The employers posting the most are boxlunch, SIMPLE RECRUIT, FlexBoard, and tmobile. If you see their name on a listing, you know they're actively hiring. That can work in your favor — high-volume recruiters often move faster. But volume also means competition. Your application needs to stand out.

Sales interviews almost always include a version of this: 'Tell me about a time you lost a deal. What did you learn?' Prepare a real story where you take ownership of what went wrong and what you'd do differently. Hiring managers want to see you learn, not just win.
