We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer / Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract , subject to a 3-month probation period . This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the cybersecurity control environment that supports business-critical systems while ensuring alignment with organisational IT and Cybersecurity strategies. Key Responsibilities Administer and support Microsoft Security technologies, including Defender XDR, Entra ID, Purview, Intune, MFA, and Security Copilot . Manage and optimise FortiGate Firewalls and FortiClient VPN environments. Monitor and maintain Varonis data security solutions for data protection, threat detection, and compliance. Support and administer ManageEngine platforms, including ADManager, ServiceDesk, and Endpoint Central. Perform vulnerability management, access control administration, security monitoring, and compliance reporting. Review and action SOC/SIEM alerts and coordinate remedial actions with relevant stakeholders. Support cybersecurity audits, governance processes, documentation, and user awareness initiatives. Requirements 3-5 years' experience in cybersecurity, IT security operations, or infrastructure security. Proven experience with the Microsoft Security Stack , FortiGate, Varonis, and ManageEngine solutions. Strong understanding of identity and access management, risk management, vulnerability management, and security best practices. Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, POPIA, GDPR, PCI-DSS , and SOX ITGC requirements. Microsoft Security certifications ( SC-200, SC-300, SC-400 ) preferred. Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+ , or Fortinet NSE will be advantageous. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
