Our client is seeking an experienced Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager to lead the maintenance and operational performance of a large-scale renewable energy facility based in De Aar, Northern Cape. This leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage assets while ensuring world-class operational performance, safety and compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead all operations and maintenance activities to maximise plant performance and reliability. Manage site personnel, supervisors, contractors and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, technical standards and regulatory requirements. Drive Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) excellence across all site activities. Monitor plant performance, investigate faults and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime. Manage preventative and corrective maintenance programmes. Oversee contractor performance and ensure quality service delivery. Support budgeting, reporting, forecasting and operational planning. Coordinate plant upgrades, optimisation initiatives and post-EPC close-out activities. Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, clients and internal teams. Ensure compliance with project agreements, permits, licences and governance requirements. Minimum Requirements BSc Engineering, BTech or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Qualified Electrician with GMR 2.1 certification. Minimum of 10 years' experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance. Proven experience within utility-scale renewable energy projects, preferably wind or solar plants exceeding 50MW. Strong leadership, contractor management and conflict resolution skills. Knowledge of SCADA systems, HV switching and power plant operations. Thorough understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Strong administrative, reporting and planning skills.
