Our client, a leading South African retail group , is seeking a DComm Solutions Engineer to join their digital commerce fulfilment team. This is an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Engineer who thrives on solving complex operational challenges within a fast-paced, high-growth eCommerce environment. About the Role This role applies Industrial Engineering principles across the full digital commerce fulfilment value chain — from order placement through to last-mile delivery and returns. You'll drive end-to-end process optimisation, systems alignment, and scalable infrastructure design to enable efficient, future-fit operations at scale. The role has a dual focus: Process Optimisation — analysing and redesigning fulfilment and operational processes to improve efficiency, cost, speed, and quality Infrastructure Delivery — supporting the design, feasibility, and implementation of fulfilment and logistics infrastructure to enable scalable growth Key Responsibilities Analyse current operational processes, workflows, and resource utilisation to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities Design and implement process improvements to optimise throughput, reduce waste, and enhance productivity Collect, validate, and analyse operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and performance gaps Develop models, simulations, and forecasts to support planning and decision-making Support capacity modelling, workforce planning, and resource allocation initiatives Contribute to operational improvement projects, tracking progress and benefits realisation Support the design of space plans, drawings, and specifications for new and existing fulfilment infrastructure Manage execution of infrastructure changes across multiple stakeholders, providing proactive progress and cost feedback Support operations teams through go-live and stabilisation phases of projects Support integration of systems, tools, and technologies (ERP, WMS, OMS) to enhance operational efficiency, including requirements translation and UAT support Collaborate with cross-functional teams across operations, supply chain, technology, and property to align on challenges and requirements Present findings, insights, and recommendations clearly to business stakeholders What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field (essential) 5+ years' experience in process optimisation, operations analysis, continuous improvement, or a similar discipline (essential) Exposure to data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL , or similar Experience in retail, logistics, supply chain, or complex operations environments (preferred) Strong process re-engineering capability — as-is mapping, gap analysis, and future-state design Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment and execution in a fast-paced environment Key Competencies Collaborative, accountable, and able to deliver independently Clear, confident communicator who builds strong working relationships Strong planner who delivers quality outcomes and takes ownership of results Resilient and adaptable under pressure in a fast-changing environment Analytical thinker who drives continuous improvement through practical, innovative solutions Data-driven approach to performance, planning, reporting, and budgeting Desired Skills: Industrial Engineer Supply Chain Retail
