ESG Reporting Officer

Description / Synopsis Our client, a respected organisation in the forestry and sustainability sector, is seeking a highly organised ESG Reporting Officer to join their team in Uganda. This role is central to managing ESG reporting for multiple Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and ensuring alignment with global sustainability frameworks such as IFC Performance Standards and UN Guiding Principles. The successful candidate will coordinate ESG data across Uganda and Tanzania, prepare high-quality sustainability reports, liaise with external stakeholders, and support the implementation of ESG systems. This position offers strong long-term growth potential within the ESG function . Minimum Requirements Degree in Sustainability, Social Sciences, Journalism, Humanities, or a related field 3–5 years ESG experience Excellent English writing and communication skills Experience with ESG frameworks (IFC, UNGP, etc.) Confidence engaging with DFIs and external stakeholders Must be willing to live and work in Uganda Preferably female and preferably African (Ugandan, Kenyan, or other African national) Highly organised, structured, and deadline-driven Willingness to travel between Uganda and Tanzania Responsibilities Coordinate ESG data collection across Uganda and Tanzania Prepare ESG, DFI and sustainability reports Ensure compliance with IFC Performance Standards and UN Guiding Principles Manage ESG reporting calendars, deadlines and submissions Train internal teams on ESG requirements and reporting standards Liaise with DFIs and external stakeholders professionally Support implementation and optimisation of ESG systems (IMS, ESG software) Contribute to ESG strategy, governance and continuous improvement Soft Skills / Additional Info Strong communication and stakeholder engagement High attention to detail Ability to work independently Professional maturity and confidence Strong organisational skills Comfortable with regional travel Desired Skills: Accuracy C Management Reporting Integrity About The Employer: Do you see yourself as the successful ESG Reporting Officer at this leading company?
